Surveying technologies have advanced so much over the years with EMC being one of the trailblazers in the industry. The firm was one of the first in the industry to employ a multibeam sweep system to perform hydrographic surveys, and was also one of the first companies to find a practical commercial application utilizing Differential Global Positioning Systems (DGPS) technology during a hydrographic survey. Always staying at the forefront of the surveying industry’s technological advancement, EMC was also one of the first companies in the United States to own a Riegl terrestrial scanner.
